to root or not to root?

ive been seeing how many users are using rooted phones and wondering if this is for me or not i cant stand how some apps don't work properly (especially when i paid for it) and wondering if this would solve my problem. for example i use widget locker it sometimes shuts down on its own though, if i got rid of my stock slide to unlock could this cure my widget locker problem? how hard is to accomplish things after rooting? the actual process of rooting seem fairly easy and there are many guides to do the root but what do i do after it has been rooted. please help! and thankyou!
 
Its best to take time and do some research before rooting and moving on to othet things. Rooting can be easily done on some devices but if you don't research you can get in over your head.
