Tomtom / google maps no sound

Hello

I have buy a Navigation system that can run Android 2.34 or Android 4.03
but i have a very big problem and i am not so good to android yet and would like to ask someone if they could help me to fix my problem.

Android 2.34

Tomtom and google maps dont work with voices direction, i hear radio and then will tomtom or google maps say something and all get dead no sound nothing even the radio stops playing.

I have install TTS engine and that works also fine with only igo .

Android 4.03

All works fine googe maps and tomtom with voice and all but now i have the other problem i get no GPS signal in tomtom but google maps and igo works fine. but in this android voice works fine in all programs.

Can somebody help me or tell what to do or look for.

I have put all on, application allows to use internet and standort is on too and so on. and i have also try to set the gps.conf all that i have benn true.

I think it have something to do that Android 4.03 with tomtom no gps signal that Android dont load the gps.conf because the file is there but it seems no matter what i do i get nowhere.

and with android 2.34 how can i somehow activate another media channel so there is to open, so when tomtom mute one there are still one open ?

That i have done so many times but dosent help anything. and i am not the only one all that have this navigation system have the same problem. on both androids version-
 
If you are having a similar problem to other users I would suggest to send a support ticket to TomTom and report this issue to them and maybe they can offer some suggestions or patch it.

I have contact's TomTom and they say that it is not the software but the android there is the problem. Even I have send all picture and the bill where they can see i have buy it.

There for h search for one that could help me.

Hmm, have you tried a factory reset of the device? I know it would delete all your data but it might be worth a shot if this issue is bothering you enough :(

I have offcourse try to reset the device when i try to install Android 4.03 or i go back to Android 2.3.4 then will all data been delete and all reset but that also dont work.

I need someone to look into either Android 2.3.4 for the voice problem or Android 4.0.3 for the GPS Signal, or in the end look into the apk of tomtom so it dont mute the audio before speak.
 
As far as I know with your device when you update to Android 4.03 TomTom isn't able to find a GPS location.

However, when you revert back to the older version you don't get any sound, am I correct?

So I feel like we are stuck between to faults that we don't have a fix for.

Would using Google Maps solely and not using TomTom at all be an alright fix?

EDIT: I ended up moving this thread into Android Applications since it is dealing with an issue with an App :)

Android 4.0.3
Tomtom dont work with GPS but with voice.
Google maps works fine
Igo works fine with gps and voice
Navigon works fine with voice and gps

Android 2.3.4
Tomtom works with gps but no voice
Google maps works with gps but no voice
Igo works with voice and gps
Navigon works with voice and gps.


Tomtom says it is the android and seller that makes the software says it is the Tomtom.

I need really help with tomtom, so many people can hack and fix for android and handys and so on, but i cannot find one person that can help me with tomtom and fix it or with android i dont really know with one is wrong or why it dont work.

I have today become new kind of software with new kernel and zimage but that dont help with tomtom.

I am also willing to pay somebody to help me fix this problem.
 
The issue is that hacking/changing a recognized developers app, like TomTom, isn't completely legal. Especially if this is a TomTom issue.

You might want to send them posts from all over the net that I found that suggest that TomTom is the one at fault here. All I did was good search your issue and everyone is having this issue on 4.03 with TomTom :)

What you have found is that, all that have android 4.0.3 have problem with tomtom or only all people that have the roadnav s150 ?

Because if it is only people with roadnav then i dont come any more because that is not enought for tomtom.
 
Well that is unfortunate because it is everyone with your device, but I feel that it is still something within the TomTom app that is causing the issue, considering Google Maps works just fine.
 
Google does have a possible draw back, it requires a data connection, applications that maintain maps on the device do not.

There are some mapping apps that do not need a data connection. NavFree is one that I use when roaming out of my service area.

I have also the feeling but now i am waiting for answere from tomtom again but they say alsways that it is android.

Then i have another question, is it possbile to download the .apk from play store i have buy somehow.because then i could try to download the tomtom and install it self on the unit

I have the last theys tried and thought and still waiting for tomtom.

Could it be that tomtom dont work on the Roadnav because tomtom need to be install on a Handy that have a IMEI nummer or something like that. but my roadnav is not a Handy and have no IMEI nummer or all what a handy have. ?
 
To me it just sounds like a compatibility issue with your device and TomTom.

Hopefully they will respond accordingly and you will get some answers.
