Too bad HD Dock doesn't work with cases...

I have a Maxx, and I purchased the HD Dock yesterday. While at the store, I made sure that my phone would fit into the dock with my Diztronic TPU case on it. And it did; it fit quite well.

When I got home and plugged everything in, I discovered that the pins/connectors on the dock won't go far enough into the phone with the case on it. What a bummer! I was really looking forward to the dock to be used on my nightstand. I don't see any way to make this work though, as the connectors are solidly attached and can't be extended. And I HATE having to constantly remove my case, so that won't work for me either.

Am I missing something, or is this just the way it is?

What case do you have ? I purchased the VZW case with the kick stand on the back. Works perfect with the HD dock. Did you take the spacer out of the dock ?

Is there a way to cut away at the adapter to see if it will give you any more room? Before you do that, make sure the adapter is a replaceable part, encase of mistakes while cutting. I used to do that for my iphone adapters IE ihome holders

When I posted this thread, I had the TPU case from Diztronic. It is a very minimalistic case and is thinner than the TPU case that VZW offers. But over the weekend I went to VZW and picked up the exact case that you're talking about. It works fine now, but I'm not very confident in this case because the top and bottom are quite exposed.

Hmm, I guess that I could start cutting away at the dock, but I'm almost certain that I would ruin it.

I jsut got my MAXX last week and want the HD dock to hold the phone as a clock at night, but I definitely won't take a cover on and off to do that. Has anyone found any case solutions that will fit in the HD dock, other than the Verizon "kickstand" case referred to earlier in this thread?

Thanks.
