Too many icons in Notification bar

Is there an app that allows you to remove some of the active icons from the notification bar? I like having the current temp and date there but they sometimes get knocked off when other apps are open.

Phone is rooted so that's not a problem.

In the application manager you could turn off the notifications for some of your other apps.
