Too many icons in taskbar

Hi, I've got some apps installed which insist on putting an icon in the taskbar (at the top of the screen), and when I plug in my phone with debugging on it adds more icons, to the point that the taskbar can't fit them all, and instead shows a number that represents the number of icons not shown. This means that (amongst other problems) if I receive a text, it isn't immediately apparent from looking at the screen.

Is there any way to force apps to not show an icon, or to extend the height of the taskbar, or some other way to fix the problem?

ALmost all apps that put an icon on the taskbar has an option to remove the icon in its settings.

I've removed it from the individual app settings where I can, but I still have a few without the option.

Just SIPdroid at the moment. I just found the option to disable the icon in Tasker.

Hmm. Doesn't use SIPDroid. But I'd still think there was one.
