i have been trying to delete my 23000 thread. nothing is working!!
I'm attempting to delete an sms thread with just over 70,000 messages in it. I never found a legit "Super sms quick delete" app that didn't immediately force close, so I'm using handcent "force delete" on the thread. On the bright side, I think I now know what is killing performance and battery life on my S6.
UPDATE: 40+ hours and a half dozen reboots later, I can say that "force delete" in handcent saved my phone from wipe or reflash, even with over 70,000 sms messages to delete in one thread. Honestly if it happens again I will probably wipe it, or if I'm feeling ambitious, root it and put custom image on.

I've tried everything except for factory reset. Handcent seems to be doing the trick, just taking very long but at least i can see a progress bar. I'll come back to this thread to let you know if it was a success.
