Help Top bar shows: "hspa, full bars" yet google wont even load...?

My phone (tmo g2) shows hspa, with full bars at the top of the screen. Yet google cant even load in my browser (dolphin mini). Anyone had this happen before? Not to smart when a smart phone turns into 1g...
