Help Torrent app

Hello, I have Samsung Galaxy s6 edge+, one day I had to reset a default app because I wanted to open a file with a different player. Since that day when I download a .torrent file utorrent app does not open that .torrent file. I get a message that says "unable to find an application to perform this action". It does open if I download a hot magnet link, like let's say from piratebay. I did Uninstall and reinstalled torrent app on my phone with no fix. I did Uninstall the app and reset the cache also didn't help. I'm out of options, please help.

I just used uTorrent to download a complete Win7 ISO on my laptop.
I had to rebuild my son's laptop, and sitting in a hotel 1500 miles from home, no tools with me.

Did not know it was available on cellphones, but I can sure see the benefits of it.
bye bye intermittent WiFi connections, it just keeps on plugging on until the complete file is done.

.

I used it on my phone for a very long time. Just since I did the clear default that's when I started getting this error message.

Sounds like you've tried different things already but maybe not all in one sitting? Try going into your Settings >> Application manager, select the utorrent app, tap the 'Force Stop' button, then the 'Clear data', then the 'Clear defaults' (if its not already greyed out), and then the 'Uninstall' button. Now in your Application manager's menu options select 'Reset app preferences', follow through its dialog box, and when that's done try installing the utorrent app again and then see if a .torrent file will open up properly or at least prompt you with a default app choice box.

The .torrent file will not open because it's not completely downloaded?

I had issues back when I was looking for a torrent client for my phone and found they either didn't work or would not open the torrents. Finally ended up with Vuze a few years ago and have not looked back.

I'm using an app called Flud. I started using it a while ago after having lots of issues with utorrent.
