Root Total noob questions

My phone has been rooted for a while. I am currently on 2.2.1 ver 2.3.340 and have been using the tranquility rom. Well now I am having some problems with the phone and really just wanted to move up to GB anyway so I was wondering if there was a way to go from where I am at to 602 easily so that I can load up the new MIUI that just dropped. I am sure that other people may have had these questions but in my search I have not been able to find anyone who actually has their phone rooted already and that just wants to upgrade to 602. Plus I have been reading that I shouldn't have or use droid X bootstrapper when going to MIUI so I was wondering what I will have to do there to get everything to run smoothly. It has been quite a while since I rooted my phone and pretty much have forgotten everything that I had learned when I did it so preferably talk to me as a total noob. I will not get offended in anyway

Thanks man hopefully I can figure it out after reading that
I can do that from having my phone already rooted cause I thought that guide was from stock no root or anything

Are you rooted and on Froyo right now? If so, then just follow that guide that trophynuts post and it is very simple. It will get you up to .602, then use the one click root and then you are good to go with Miui for Gingerbread. Have any problems, just post in here.

I think most everyone recommends using Droid 2 Bootstrapper on Gingerbread. Droid X Bootstrapper doesn't play well with GB, unless that has been fixed.

So should I delete DX bootstrapper first before I do anything? That is what I was planning on doing just in case it would **** anything up.

Not using it works fine too. Don't have to rush out and get rid of it.

Did you make a backup of your apps with TIBU?
