Total noob Tablet-realm starting point ... sorry

[TOoefish]

My first thread ... besides intro, and I've tried searching for some of the very basic info about android os, but haven't found anything. So if there is such a place, please point me there so I can do my homework.

And at the risk of the "search is your friend" response, the first thing I am curious about is....

Is android "instant-on" like the iPads? That's one thing that really stands out that I like about them compared too booting my netbook.

Well, the more apps you install the slower it will boot up, especially if these apps are those that "run at start", just like any computer. Anyway, I guess droidlessons.com would be a good starting point on you. Me personally, since I was already making full use of smartphone capabilities before there was android (on Symbian), on moving to Android I just expected it to be able to do most if not all the same things and I just browsed around in the apps section of various forums to see what else it can do.
