Root Touch based recovery.

There is nothing really wrong w/ CWM, its a tried and true staple. However, it is VERY convenient to know what your batter percentage is while in recovery. Being touch based just plain makes more sense on a smartphone  And being able to browse files, see the time, and other little goodies are always a plus too.

Only tiny frustrating thing is converting CWM backups over to TWRP backups

CWM just seemed so arcane to me, and the touch based recovery is just more modern looking. Also it has seemed to work great for me as well.

Yup, I agree with you there! Though, I made a stupid mistake and din't realize that CWM backups are not compatible with TWRP. So for anyone reading, to be on the safe side, restore from your CWM backup, boot into CWM, install TWRP from CWM, reboot, and make a new back up immediately in TWRP.

I was very foolish by messing with the stock ROM, then spotting this thread, and immediately and excitedly flashing the .zip. Well problem then was that I could only boot to a stock ROM and couldn't access or convert my CWM backups. Was a hell of a time just to get back into CWM and that was 5.5 not 5.2.x which my backups were created in. Moral of the story is to err on the side of caution when it comes to rooting... It will save you (in this case) a couple hours of manually re installing your apps and settings:p
