Help Touch dialling in calls

My girlfriend recently upgraded to this phone and has been having problems with dialling numbers on automated phone systems, e.g. press 1 for customer services, they are not recognizing the key press even if she does it multiple times.

Any suggestions anyone?

Go to Settings, Sound then scroll down to System section (assuming you are running ICS 4.0.x) in that list there is a setting "Dial Pad Touch Tones"? Make sure it's ticked to turn them on.
