Touch screen not responding

hey everyone i had a question that i havent been able to find an answer to. I get my phones from craigslist so i dont get any warranty and i see posts about touch screens just not responding. Would a new digitizer fix this? Just wanna be prepared in case it happens to me.

I am having a similiar problem. Phone was working fine. It did not fall or anything. all of a sudden screen not responding when trying to com from lock screen or answer call.

Can anyone help.
