Help Touch screen not working?

Just got my TF300 yesterday. Everything was going great until a few minutes ago... was downloading some apps from Google Play, when suddenly the tablet appeared to become unresponsive. I turned off and turned back on... it seemed to be operating normally, but the touch screen would not respond to touch. I pressed power and it asked me if I wanted to power off, but I couldn't select 'Ok' due to the non-functioning touch screen. So I held power down for about 10 seconds, rebooted, and the touch screen still isn't working

Perhaps I just got a dud?

Well, now it's responding again... hopefully that was just a one-off

Now it goes back and forth between working and not working.

Have you done a rest & have you updated the software ?

I have the same problem, I am sending it to Asus to get looked at. My tablet will just stop receiving input. Sometimes only the bottom bar works and the desktop doesn't work and sometimes its the whole thing. Often I can't even unlock the device. My tablet also has an issue where if I have the keyboard open, it will start typing on its own. It will also open applications on its own and other crap. I think its a defective device and I hope Asus treats me right.
