Help TouchPad style mouse for tablet

Do they have one of these? How do I make one? Does someone who knows what there doing think this is worth the trouble?

It would go great holding a tablet vertically imo

A PC touch-pad should work, one that uses standard mouse drivers, either USB(if the tablet has OTG) or Bluetooth.

I was thinking of one that sits in the corner of the keyboard on the display of the tablet, and is also visible when the keyboard is hidden. One the functions like the Lenovo pointing stick and/or the blackberry ball cursor. A little lockable movable box? Or maybe the cursor can be accessed by holding down a button with one thumb on the keyboard which acts a mouse actuator/single/double click and by holding the button the entirety of the buttons/touch functions are numbed, and the other thumb controls the cursor and can be accessed at any point on the screen. Left thumb=mouse button, rightthumb=mouse control

While not being useful for a 4 inch screen, maybe a mouse application like this could be good on a 7+ screen
