Touchpal Contacts trojan?

Hi

My installation of Touchpal Contacts updated itself yesterday. I noticed the dialog said something... .apk
I tried to stop the download but it was to late, the file installed itself.
Now, I have two new apps in the app drawer, 'AppCenter' and 'GameZone' that do not appear in the App Manager so I cannot uninstall them. Worse still, my HTC Desire HD has now slowed to a crawl.
Any advice on how to get rid of these unwanted items, without a reset (would that get rid of them anyway?).
I had AVG AntiVirus installed but it didn't pick the files up. nor does it find anything on a scan.
Desperate!

This might be helpful...
Push Advertising

... and they might be just shortcuts for internet advertising pages.
So, try to shove that icons in the trash can.

Thanks for the advice Harry.
I ran all those checkers and none of them detected anything.
I then deleted the twoicons, restarted amd the phone is back to normal.

Are you by any chance using Go Launcher? The latest update added a GameZone and AppMarket.

Yes, I am!
I was sure this came from a TouchPal update, but I suppose it happened so fast I could have been mistaken.
Anyhow, removal of those icons from the app drawer has restored my phone to full speed ahead. Happy times.

Its Go Launcher. Opening those even brings you to Go websites.
