Help Touchscreen calibration problem

stueyg

Lurker
I have an IDEOS 8150 that has been working fine for a month. However it now has a problem in that incorrect keys are registered when keys are pressed. This occurs with the android keyboard, phone buttons, and the 4 dedicated buttons at the bottom of the screen. It seems that the screen needs recalibrating. If anyone knows how to do this then it would be great to let me know so I can use the phone again. Thanks in anticipation :)

Pretty sure a reset will fix it ... It will also force you to reload all your data, though :-(

You could use titanium backup and save your data , reset, and re-import. Not sure there is any touch screen calibration for the IDEOS.

Thanks for your reply. I have tried the reset option and unfortunately this did not work.

Ahh. You might want to mention the steps you have already taken to try to fix the problem.

If a hard reset didn't fix the problem, I've no clue. Sorry.

I've had the same problem since about the same time. The problem persists across stock android and the 2 3rd party ROMs I have tried.

It seems the screen sort of increases sensitivity in parts I most commonly rub. I quite regularly slide the slider across the screen to unlock the phone which I think has created a strip of uber sensitive screen space. If I try to select back, menu, home, or search it will register as if I am clicking above the buttons inside the strip.

The only work around I have managed to find is to either increase the moisture in my fingers or breath on the screen to the point where it starts to fog.
