Help Touchscreen & water damage

yariso

Lurker
Hello,

I dropped my s3 in the toilet. I immediately removed it, took out the battery and put in rice for a few days. When i turned it on everything work, apart from the touchscreen does not respond all of the time. I took it apart and cleaned all of the points with alcohol, however it is still the same. Can anyone advise whether the issue is the motherboard or the digitizer, so i can replace, or could it be either?

Thanks

Thats the problem man. Its gona be hard to figure out if its the digitizer or say a driver chip. Ive no idea man. Good luck

Why do so many people apparently drop their phones down toilets? Because it's when they're pulling they're pants up, phone slips of out pocket and plop!!

You've left it in rice or cat litter for a few days and the touch screen still isn't working If it's not the digitizer, you might be looking at getting a new phone. Although Ebay is often a good place for spares though.

Nah its because we're so obsessed that we text while peeing and your aim goes off a bit, you panic, drop the phone (well thats what happened to me with a dumb phone lol... it left me with the dilemma, put my hand in pee or flush first. I chose the former because im hardcore. Phone lasted a few months before finally dying. Nokia are (were) boss :D
