Help Towelroot and display

I used towelroot to root my phone a couple of weeks ago and it does strange things now. The display turns on by itself onto the lock screen. At times, the display won't turn off. All the settings seems ok

Has anybody seen such untoward behavior after rooting? Should I check to see if the phone has any malware and what's the best app to do that?

Towelroot doesn't do that. What you do after you root can cause problems if you don't know what you're doing. Also after you run towelroot you can delete it, it did its job.
