Help Trackball issues

Hi there, I am a newbi to forums and have had my Nexus One since April. Loving the phone for several months, but since about a month ago I had the auto scrolling problem you had.

Did you hear of anyone else having this problem? I also have a trackerball rather than optical, so thought I could be that? If so, is there a way of taking the ball out to clean it?

I've been looking into it a bit more and sounds like a hardware problem. Not sure if there's an update of fixfix out there?

or is there a way to disable the tracker ball, this could bypass the problem?

Any help would be appreciated.

Ps, my phone works fine for ten minutes then is practically unuseable for ages. Arge.

...talked to my friend over at htc and asked him about 2 months ago if there is any way to change the standard trackball from the nexus with the sensor from the desire [being practically brothers..] and he said that there is no other way to change the trackball but with another trackball ...that sucks !
