Tracker app with an alarm

Hi, I know there are lots of gps tracking apps for android but I am looking for a specific feature. Like you are tracking someone and when that person enters a specific location selected by you with an specific radius you get an alarm or notification from the application. Does an application like that exist and if it does can you tell me the name of it please.

Thanks

Hi DoubleE97, and welcome to Android Forums :)

I will assume that you're asking about tracking someone with their permission; otherwise it would be illegal and we kind of frown on that sort of thing here ;)

I've used IFTTT (If This Then That) before to do a similar thing. I installed the IFTTT Android App, associated it with my account, and created a recipe so that I would get a text message (or email, or log it Google Calendar - the possibilities are pretty endless with IFTTT) whenever the phone entered or exited a specific area.

Maybe you could adapt something similar?

Thank you and sure what I meant was with permission of course i didn't think that it would come out as other way. And I really am not familiar with what you are talking about so if you were to go into details about more I' d really appreciate it :)

ifttt.com is a service that lets you set up some really excellent automation by combining triggers ("if this happens...") with actions ("... then do this") into recipes. So I created a Recipe using the "Android Location" trigger, defined for the location I was interested in, and the "Send me an SMS" action:

I can get into more detail on it later if you'd like, but I'm a bit pressed for time at the moment. Maybe this will at least be enough to get you pointed in the right direction :)

I get the concept and prepared the recipe from my phone and activated it. From now on is it enough to download the ifttt app on another phone and login to my account on that to get an sms to the phone number I wrote in?

Yep, I *think* that should work - I've never tried it with multiple devices, but I don't see why it wouldn't. Let me know :D

I tried the other phone thing and prepared two recipes that would send me an sms and send me an email. When I tried it for the first time with my original phone that I first looged in to, it did send me an email but not an sms which I think is about my country. But the second phone thing did not work out unfortunately :(
