Transfer contacts' birthdays to calendar

Hi forum.

I would like to transfer the birthdays of the persons whose data are stored in the "People" app transfer to the "Calendar" app on my Nexus 4 running Android 4.2.2 without using Google's calendar on the web. Is it possible an in case it is how?

The threads I found here didn't answer my question.

Best regards,
Oliver

What's the reason for not wanting to use Google Calendar? Because that's by far the easiest way to do this.

You can also add all those people to the "My Contacts" group in Gmail, add a third-party calendar to your phone (such as iCloud, or whatever), and sync both calendars. Once that's done and the birthdays appear in the second calendar, you can move the contacts back, if you'd like.

My NAS runs a WebDAV server which syncs the calendars on all my devices. I don't need Google's services for synchronization.

And it's incredible cumbersome to sync my contacts' birthdays on my Nexus 4 with Google's calendar on the web and then go back from the web to the calendar on my Nexus 4.

Actually its easier to use Google. Enable syncing of your contacts to Google, then on your calendar app, enable "Contact Events", and their birthdays will automatically appear on the Google calendar on your phone. Basically just turning on two switches on your phone and you get what you want.

That's the way how I have done the synchronization to date. But now I would like to do it without a Google service on the web.

Its possible if you sync both contacts and calendar to Outlook. Contacts with birthdays automatically creates entries in the calendar of Outlook, so if you sync to that, everything is done offline.
