Help Transfer media files to Android ICS Touchpad

JWooz

Lurker
Just gave my old Touchpad new life running ICS... thanks Reverend!

Anyway... how can I connect it to my PC for file transfer? When I'm booted up in Android my PC does not recognize it. Anything I'm doing wrong? Is there a special tool I need?

I just want to go onto the machine, create a folder, and copy media files to it.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I run ICS/CM10 on my TP

1). I do not see why you cannot use the USB connection:
Plug in USB cable.
Swipe up the Notification pane.
It should show connected as Media Device, or you can select Camera (PTP). Verify the TP shows up as device you can drag and drop to.

2). Alternatively use FTP over WiFi. Try sideloading SwiFTP.
(Google: sideload swiftp apk) and go to code.google.com to pick up rev 1.24
Put an FTP client on your PC like FileZilla.

Both should work for you. Both work for me.

Check settings/storage/three dots upper right hand corner/ USB Computer connections/, is there a check in the MTP box? If not, put one there. Now see if you can connect with your PC. You will be looking for the Tenderloin folder. You are connected as a Media device, not a disk device.

And if you want to transfer other files QUICKLY boot into clockworkMod:
mounts and storage> mount usb mass media
:D
