Help Transfer PHONE contact numbers from old sim to phone

I just got my galaxy note 2, very nice phone... but am a bit annoyed at how complicated it is to do a simple data transfer.

I have all my (phone number) contacts on an old sim.

I want to transfer these contacts to my phone, or sd card.

There's an option in "contacts" - export contacts to sd card.

Cool... did that.

It transfered 1,500 email addresses!

How can I transfer my phone numbers, from my sim, to my phone or sd card... there must be a way...

My old school nokia can do this....

Dependent on if your carrier disabled this function.

Go into contacts. Hit the menu button. Select 'Import/Export'. Look for 'Import from SIM Card'. Select this and this should transfer contacts directly to the phone.

Also, we can use Google Account to get the contracts if your old phone is a Android phone.
