Transfer pictures from PC to Galaxy S

Hi, I see a number of threads about transferring photos from device to PC but I want to transfer some photos from my PC to my phone via Kies. Some of them I want to use as Contact pics. Do I create a folder called Pictures?
What resolution should I select for transfer & optimum quality?

My problem was that when I copied a picture from my PC to the phone, a message came up saying that the file had one or more properties outside of device limits & I should use a media program to convert the file before copying it. I have no idea what those properties are & so how should I convert the file? I tried just ignoring the warning & the photos seem to show up ok on my phone.
