Welcome to Android Forums. Sorry for the delay in responding to your question.
Your pictures will be in a folder called DCIM on your SD card.
You might need to download your phones specific USB drivers to your computer, and install (leave phone unplugged until after install and reboot, then plug it in).
You can find the USB drivers from your phone manufacturer's site, or you can try going to your phone specific forum/All Things Root sub-forum (scroll down to the bottom of the first forum to find it)/All Things Root Guide sticky.
Once everything is setup properly, after you plug your phone into the computer, you should get a USB icon in your phones task bar.
Slide the pulldown down and select the "select to transfer files to/from your computer". Select to turn on USB storage. Select OK
If it doesn't show a popup after a minute or two, go to Start/Computer. Select the drive letter that represents your phone.
If you don't see a drive letter that represents your phone, then on phone go to menu/settings/applications/development. Make sure USB debugging box is checked.
If still no window go to the USB debugging box. As fast as you can uncheck, then recheck the box with phone plugged into computer.
For more info and phone specific support go to your phones forum here at Android Forums
Hope this has helped.
