Help Transfered video files only play audio on pc

i shot some footage today with my new note 3 in 4k. came home and tried to transfer it to my pc. when i transfered it, the files was only the audio, no video. i went back to the original folder to my phone (from my pc) and it is the same way. however, i can play the video just fine when i play it from my device.

any suggestions? i need this footage.

Update:

It plays in VLC Player. So, I'm assuming my Windows Media Player need some kind of plug-in. Also, Premiere CS6 won't allow me to import the file in either, but I'm assuming that's a 4K thing.

Not so much a plug-in, more likely it's missing the particular video codec that helps it play the file properly (learned this lesson the hard way several times years ago :p). What file type is it? Someone should be able to point you in the right direction if we have that info. :)

As far as the video not opening in CS6, it could be as you say and the program can't handle 4K files, or it could be another symptom of the needed video codec being missing (someone more knowledgeable will have to come in on that issue, I'm afraid).

Cheers :)
