Transfering Accounts

I'll be getting married in a couple of months :), and with that will be a name change. Because of the name change, my e-mail address will be changing, which is of course linked to my google account and my phone.

Is there a way to transfer everything from my maiden name account to my married account? Or will I have to do it all manually? Right now I'm thinking it will have to be manually.

Things I'll need transferred:
-Email
-Google Play (this one concerns me, I have paid apps I don't want to lose, also will I have to start from the begining on game apps?)
-Google Voice (Can I keep my old number?)
-Chrome bookmarks
-Docs/Drive
-Calendar
-Anything else I missed that would change on my phone?

When you say your gmail will be changing do you mean that you are creating a new gmail account with your new name?

According to this article moving product data is not possible with certain information:

You can have multiple accounts associated to one phone. I would just leave everything as is and create a new gmail account with your new name. When you get a new device just sign in with both accounts.

Thanks a lot! Yes, I'l getting a whole new email, since it is currently firstname.lastname@gmail.com

And I had no idea I could be signed into both account, that will be very helpful. But do I really want to mess with that for the next 50 years?

Well you can manually forward all your emails to your new account, documents can be copied, bookmarks can be created, and you can update your new calendar. But purchases will always stay with your old account unless you buy them again under your new account. You can sync multiple Google Play Accounts on one phone.

The easier thing to do would be to keep your last name or stay single.

It's not really much of a hassle to be honest, both can be setup to sync concurrently with the same gmail app and as long as both accounts are tied to the handset, any apps you've bought on the old account will be usable on the phone, even with the new account signed in and vice versa.

Congratulations and all the best for your big day BTW! :)

Congratulations on the upcoming nuptials! I have 6 accounts that I use regularly, probably another 10 that I've cast off. It's not a problem. Just make sure your older "maiden" account is the one you use in the play store (you will be able to choose) and account sync if/when you get a new phone.

Good luck!!!

Well, I'm not sure my fiancee Euph_22 would be too happy with the staying single! ;)

Anyway, thanks for the feedback everyone, for some reason I was under the impression that only one account could be synced at a time, but apparently not!
