Transfering paid apps to a new google account?

Sparing the dirty details... Something happened that should've never happened and now I have to make a new google account and try to rebuild everything. gmail, igoogle, voice, etc. I did some poking around, but it seems no one has ever asked about any way of transferring paid apps from one google account to another. Is this possible, or am I now $20+ in the hole on apps I can no longer use on top of everything else that has happened?

For some reason, google flags things that the built-in search can't catch. Sigh.

Absolutely nothing. In fact, there is already an exploit to get free paid apps. It is quite easy. No, I will not tell you how to do it.
 
Have you contacted Google themselves to see what they have to say, Fade? Seems to me this would be something that (a) they would have anticipated and (b) should be easy enough to do when they (Google) have all the verification info for both accounts already on their systems.

Actually, you are looking at it from the wrong end, so to speak. You are assuming that the only way to get apps moved from one google account to another is to transfer the apps themselves. The more logical solution that I was thinking of, and it would still allow the apps to be protected, is to shift the ENTIRE google account over from one email to another. That would actually be perfect, since I have paid hosting through Picasa Web as well.

I haven't actually emailed them yet, but I've been poking around their help forums. It appears from everything I've read and seen that the system is already in place to do so, but it is broken. There is a spot on google Accounts which allows you to switch your primary email address associated with the account, but if you enter in another gmail address you get this message:

[FONT=Arial, sans-serif]You can not associate a Gmail address with your Google Account. [/FONT]

However... while I was reading that page last night, I was on day 4 with no sleep (Just got back from an 8 day job/apt scouting trip in Phoenix), so I missed the part right above it that wasn't in red. (Which I caught while I was copy/pasting the above quote. :o)

So I think what I am going to try now is to change it to a non google email, delete the google email, then add a new one. I just hope it works.

Ah yeah, never thought of it from that angle. Definitely worth a try I guess.

At least you may give them something to think about for the future if they can not do anything about it now.
