Transfering to/from SD Cards

Hello, I have a couple questions about SD cards on the Thrive.

  1. What types of cards does it support? (Normal, Micro, Mini, etc.)
  2. What subtypes does it support? (SD, SDHC, SDXC)
Now for my main question...

  1. Is it possible to transfer files to and from the SD card to the internal memory of the Thrive?
Thanks a ton! I'm a considering getting a Thrive. :)

What types of cards does it support? (Normal, Micro, Mini, etc.)

Full size SD works. Micro-SD is supposed to work with an adapter, but various users have reported varying results. For best results, go with SD.

What subtypes does it support? (SDSC, SDHC, SDXC)
All three. SDXC only up to 128 gig, I think.

Is it possible to transfer files to and from the SD card to the internal memory of the Thrive?
Yes, except that with Honeycomb, you can't move apps to the SD card. You can move normal files such as documents, music, video, etc. If you root, you can move files back and forth, but apps still can't be made to work from SD. This applies to all tablets with any version of Honeycomb.

The stock file manager is ok, but for serious moving you might want to try something like ES File Manager (free).

Ouch, I have an 8 GB Micro with an adapter that I use for my camera. I wonder if I'll be one of the lucky ones.
So I don't need to root to transfer documents, music, pictures and videos?

I have myself a micro in a SD adapter with no issues samsung 16GB class 2 (old one I had laying around) eventually I'll probably update to a class 10
