Lurker
Yes,i finally did it,transferred from the dark side of that Apple, and boy arnt i glad. Ive had the s5 since the 20th and i am absolutely loving it.Everything and i mean everything is so much better then the 4s which i owned previously.

But i have two questions

1.What are the benefits of rooting a android phone?

2. How do i stop these ******* advertisements -.-

Here from the dark side you say? Related to question 1 the solution to question 2 is. Help you we will. Tell us your carrier you must. Get thread moved we will.:D

rooting has a few advantages but be warned you will loose warranty on the phone if you root. The are quite a few advantages of rooting a few are

ability to backup all apps + data (titanium backup)
ability to customize the phone (battery indicator, colors of the indicators size etc)
ability to block ads
ability to remove bloatware from the phone
ability to install custom rom/firmware to help increase battery life

I always root my phones , I know a lot people are worry about their warranty (Knox) not me. I never owned a phone with a warranty ,all my phones were international so no warranty for the US customers.

But again who cares I never had a problem with a Samsung phone ( S , S2 or S4 and now S5 )

am a Samsung girl but ,I have to admit am going to check the Nexus6 when it comes out as my second phone ,will see

Agree with volimte21, i know i want root bad enough where knox isnt going to stop me haha, but yeah the list of benefits goes on for "why should i root my android device"..

The real question should be, why wouldnt you?? :p
