Transferring bookmarks to Dolphin browser from desktop

Altair4

Newbie
Hi, recently I've started using Dolphin on my android phone, and I'm wondering if there's a way to move all my bookmarks from my desktop browser (Opera 10.60) to Dolphin since I have a lot of bookmarks and having to manually add all of them would be a huge pain. Thanks!

This is a little overcomplicated, but it will save you time in the long run:

Download Firefox.

Get this extension: https://addons.mozilla.org/da/firefox/addon/2448/

Export your opera bookmarks to firefox.

Export your bookmarks to google bookmarks using the firefox extension.

Download the Bookmarks to SD addon for dolphin.

Open dolphin, open Add-ons management in the menu, select Bookmarks to SD, sync, provide gmail login.

I tried this method, and it seems to get rid of all the folders, leaving the bookmarks in one long list... Did this happen to you too?

Edit: Dolphin Browser does support bookmark folders, right?

I am afraid not, the best that you can do is to move the bookmarks in order of what "type" they are.

To import Bookmarks (folder structure) from desktop browsers to Dolphin Browsers proceed as follows:
1. Export your bk following each browser instructions in you pc.
2. Export your bk from Dolphin (using Bookmarks to SD) to your phone and use the same file name you use in 1.
3. Replace the file in your phone with the one in your pc.
4. Import the "new" file back to Dolphin and you are done!!!
:D:D:D

For me I used this method to retain folder structure:

1. I am using Chrome, so I installed Phonemarks extension. Then I installed Phonemarks on phone from market and synced Chrome to default Android browser.
2. I downloaded Bookmarks to SD for Dolphin, and used that to sync Dolphin Bookmarks to Android browser.

New to tablet browser, I was wondering the same thing. Firefox no longer allows sync to google but Dolphin only allows sync from google and facebook. How can I transfer my bookmarks to dolphin from my firefox on desktop?

Simple actually, get the bookmarks from Firefox to Chrome on your PC, then Chrome to Dolphin. Although why not just use Firefox for Android anyway?

I get around the differing browsers/sunc issue on phone and pc by using this ... https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mochasmp.android.bookmarkoverseer ...

Basically, rather than opening a browser and going through your bookmarks within it, you use Bookmark Overseer to go through your bookmarks (from an html file) and choosing a bookmark opens your browser at that url. Just a slightly different way of doing things, though they should implement landscape mode which would make things slightly more convenient.

I also use BitTorrent Sync ... https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bittorrent.sync ... to sync things between my phone and my pc WITHOUT going through the cloud. It doesn't keep things in perfdect sync in terms of bookmarks but any changes at either end are automatically sync'ed between the two.

Works for me.
