OK, so I figured out how copy a directory using C:> to my LG P506
but I can't seem to copy Individual files. Does Android
only allow directories to be copied? Please help. Thanks

Once your phone is mounted as USB storage, it will work just like any other removable disk.

Let's say you have a files "spreadsheet.xls" you want to copy to your documents folder on your phone. Assuming you are using Vista or Windows 7 and your phone was assigned drive letter M: you would type:

Code:
copy "c:\users\<username>\My Documents\spreadsheet.xls" "M:\documents\*.*"

Remember to use quotes is your file or folder names contain spaces.

The files i'm trying to copy are media files and the file names are quite extensive. I've tried typing the file name just as it appears in the command module but only get the message: The system cannot find the file specified.

I can copy text files no problem. BTW the files were originally downloaded using RealPlayer and then converted to .wmv.

Ancient MS DOS can't manage long file names.
As I remember not more than 8 characters in front of the file extension.
