Transferring phone contacts from Instinct to Hero?

This is my first post although I have been reading this forum for awhile. I just went from a Moment (too big and bulky) to the Hero.

After searching and reading Im coming to the sad realization that the Bluetooth does not function correctly on the Hero? I just wanted to do a simple transfer of the contacts from my Instinct to the Hero? I dont want to use Google or any other email. Im surprised because there was no problem transferring my contacts from the Instinct to the Moment using Bluetooth. Both the Moment and the Hero have the same Android operating system so why is this happening?

There has to be an easier way to do this?

you can individually send each name card i guess but there shouldn't be any issues with the bluetooth on the said device(s). or you can rummage through the folders to see if you can get your contacts on the root of the sd card making them easy to extract.

I dont know what is going on. The Instinct tries to send the contacts to the Hero but it fails. The Hero is pairing with the Instinct but not connecting.

I dont believe the hero supports obex bluetooth. That is the file needed to send and recieve file via bluetooth.

option one would be to export your contacts from sprint mobile sync which contains the contacts from your instinct then import them to your google account and that would auto sync with your Hero

option two just take it to the sprint store and let them copy yhe contact from one phone to the other

It is really sad that a basic function like Bluetooth doesnt work on this phone the right way and still hasnt been fixed. My older phones and the Moment had no problems doing this.

Here's the thing, Google in my opinion don't care about syncing with pc's or Bluetooth file transfer because they believe they have covered all the options by data sync with gmail and emailing.. encourage users to use your services and expand your ad revenue!. Google don't make money from BT ..

i went from a instinct to a hero. just go to the sprint store and ask them to transfer your contacts. took about 5 minutes and its free.
