I have a dumb question, dumber than usual since it's my wife's question and I do not know the machinery. We got Android File transfer to make it possible to transfer her pics from her phone, a Galaxy Note 2, to her NEW MacBook Pro 13" (Yosemite). But what's disappointing is that there are so many photos with numerical names, and we can't see icons (at least) of the pics; also, the MAC can't open the pics for her to see them to select the ones worth transferring. We wonder, is there any obvious or not obvious way to make them visible and doable with Android File Transfer (or some other way that doesn't cost ...) ?

THANK YOU.

To be honest AFT is pretty quick, so it's probably simpler to transfer them all then delete the ones you don't want (unless you have a large number of shots and only want a few of them).

You could I guess rename the ones you want to transfer while they are on the phone. That would make it easy to spot them using AFT. Or copy the ones you want to Dropbox, Google Drive or whatever you use and share them with the Mac that way.

The thing is that Android uses MTP, Microsoft's Media Transfer Protocol, for media transfers. As that's a MS thing it's not well supported by the Mac, which is why you can't browse previews over USB. Google provide the Android File Transfer tool, but that is what it is, a file transfer tool, not a viewer.
