Transformer Tf300 Screen Shortcuts/icon

I have an Asus Transformer TF300 with ICS. I actually read the whole manual looking for a way to arrange the Shortcuts/Icons on the screen. They do NOT auto arrange as you might do on your cell phone or desktop computer. I have not found any menu or way to do this.

Anyone have an idea?

To move icons on the home screen, tap and continue to press down on the icon for about a second (long tap). The icon should then undock from its spot and you can drag it around the screen. To drag it to a different home screen, drag it to the left or right edge and you will switch to the next home screen. Once you drag it to the place where you like, release it (take your finger off the screen).

This should work for widgets as well. Long tapping may also allow you to resize your widget where you can tap and drag the side of the frame and resize it according to your liking.

By the way, you are in the TF101 forum. The TF300 forum is here: ASUS Transformer Pad 300 - Android Forums

Thank you for your response. The method you indicated I already know. I was looking for the feature that Automatically will arrange your Icons/Shortcuts on wach page, like you do on a Windows Desktop or on my Samsung Infuse i997.

Let me know if this is available for the Asus.

Thanks

This sounds more like function to do with the launcher than the device itself. It may be that TouchWiz (which runs on Samsung devices) has the feature that allows you to do what you want, unfortunately, the default launcher that comes with the Asus does not. You might be able to find an alternative launcher that does what you want, but it may not be worth the effort of switching over to a new launcher for just that one feature.

That's the one thing ICS, irrespective of device, does not do right out of the box. Some device manufacturers may have a "windows-like" approach, although I have never seen it. For that matter, no Android OS I have ever used from 2.2 Froyo onwards, has ever offered an "auto-arrange" feature. I suspect it is due to the nature of the OS allowing you to set out your "desktop" to your hearts content.

Strangly the App window is in order. When you load a new app from google store the Icon/App appears in the correct place. It justs goes Random when you put the shortcut onto your screen.

Thanks
