I was browsing through my my phone and stumbled across the .trashes folder in SETTINGS - STORAGE - MISC. It's over 2 gigs in size  and basically I wanna know if I can get rid of it. My guess is it shouldn't be a problem but I would prefer to run it through the oracles here first ;)

You could rename it and see if anything bad happens. If not, delete it. Might be wise to do a Nandroid backup before you start.

If you Google .trashes there are various links that suggest it's been created on a Mac or linux. Do you use either?

Can't seem to find a .trashes file either. Possibly a file created by an app. As suggested... do a nandroid and rename .trashes to .oldtrashes and see if anything blows up! ;)
