Tron

Well its only been 2 weeks so i will hold out hope... hopefully it will have some staying power. I too really loved it

I think there's a reason why Disney held the DVD availability of the '82 Tron. The effects were revolutionary for the time, the characters weren't very developed, and the plot was weak. Other than the last two, the movie is a lot of fun. Come on, living....in a video game?! Awesome, by any standard.

I also feel the sequel followed the same problems. Weakish plot, rushed tempo at the end, but EVERYTHING else is incredible.

Despite my small qualms with both movies. I sitll enjoy them. I've seen Legacy twice now in 3D, and hope to see it a third. I will probably still show '82 Tron at my place for my friends just as some filler/background entertainment. They're fun movies. Masterpieces? Maybe not, but they fulfilled the dreamscape desires of the little boy in me.

Tron (1982) - 8/10
Tron: Legacy (2010) - 8/10

do you think they put so much story line in for a tron 3?

They don't have much of anything to go off of for a Tron 3.

(SPOILERS)

If anything, maybe a spinoff with Quorra started a new hybrid species on Earth. BS, BS, BS....

Sam would basically have to reinvent the Grid for another Tron movie, why would he do that when he lost so much in it?

(SPOILERS END)

Oh i don't know maybe beings they had dillengers son in the second movie. They can have him try to avenge his father by taking out flynn son and take the company over.

Or flynn son could invent the grid to carry on his father dream. Plus didn't flynn create a new grid? So the old grid should still be at encom?

I know kinda weak but there are story lines out there.

Plus how you know flynn died. She said he might but no one knew for sure. You assume he died.

Yep shes the one. Amazing Disney makes a film with that in there lol.

At first I wasn't very interested in seeing Tron. I had seen the original and loved it. Part of why I loved the original is my lack knowledge of computers at the time. When I heard about the new Tron movie, I was worried that I would have difficulty maintaining the suspension of disbelief enough to enjoy the movie. What made me decide to go see it was a few trailers and Jeff Bridges. I saw Bridges on a talk show (I think Jimmy Kimmel) and decided to give it a chance.

I actually enjoyed the movie much more than I had expected. I did have low expectations going into the theatre. I originally did not want to see the 3D version, but ended up watching in 3D because that was all that was available. I felt that they did the 3D really well. (I was disappointed in Avatar.) Overall, I liked the movie. The story was written well enough for me to buy.

One of the things that appealed to me was that Tron was filmed in Vancouver. I got a kick out of seeing the various sites of Metro Vancouver in many of the city scenes.
