Help Trouble connecting Note 4 to Windows 10 Laptop?

I recently got a powerful Lenovo laptop with Windows 10 and until today everything has been running smoothly. Until today, all of sudden when I plug in my Note 4 via USB to the laptop... it loops continually!
The Samsung Note Folder shows up a few seconds and disappears... over and over again every few seconds.
I tried different USB cables, no change. Whatsup???

It works fine when I plug into my old Lenovo laptop that is running Windows 8.1

Sounds like you haven't got the correct usb drivers installed, did you install Kies3 on your new laptop, this has the USB drivers included. You can always install the older Samsung USB driver, it worked on mine. Phil

Are you on Windows 10? I've tried the new and older drivers, no change. What is strange, the laptop was working find with the Note 4 the past two weeks and all of a sudden started looping when I plugged in the USB & Note 4... I forgot to add, I've never used Kies in the past... heard too many bad things about it.

Hi, yes I am on Windows 10, and never had a problem with Kies, I set it to start only when I want it to, and backup my phone with it, have you had an update to Windows? Phil

I guess it time to try Kies... but it bothers me that everything was working fine then suddenly the looping happened??? As for updates, it is automatic, so maybe something happened there? This has never happened before when I was with the Note 3, 4 on Win7 & Win8.

I downloaded the latest Kies for Windows 10, same problem, tried the smart switch it recommended, still same problem... this is getting frustrating. Maybe I need to delete anything to do with the Note 4 and start over?

Hi, check if any downloads have been applied, you can do this from the Update window, if you see one dated recently remove it and see if this helps. Phil

This was connecting fine after my last updates which were two Security updates on 11/11/2015.
However I tried different USB cables this morning and when I tried the original Samsung USB cable, it it working now... so it is pointing to faulty or cheap USB cables. Strange as they all were working fine before. It wasn't working with that same USB cable before? But now is? I'll see what happens as I switch around today.
