Help Trouble installing CWM on Avail

Hi, I'm new to the Android scene, and just rooted my new Avail. I want to do a thorough backup, which is apparently called a nandroid. I have installed ROM Manager in an attempt to do use ClockworkMod, but I am getting an error message that the ZTE Avail is not supported.

I have searched this forum and others and see lots of references to CWM recovery, but I don't see any specific instructions on installing CWM on the Avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dan

ROM Manger doesn't work on this phone. You need a version built for it. I don't know of any working likes on this forum but there is some at androidarea51.com

Thanks, kingmt. But I am still confused. I see lots of references to using CWM in the Avail/Merit forum. Isn't CWM an "aftermarket" app, or is it part of the Android operating system?

FWIW, I have installed Titanium Backup.

ClockWorkMod is a system recovery built by devlopers and not the official phone teams. It exists off of your regular phone experience.

its accessed by holding down menu and volup when you turn it on. Its a black screen and has a few options.

you have a Stock recovery right now, but it cant make backups or do some other things.

Titanium Backup is an app, thats a whole different thing.
