Root Trouble installing new baseband (Cyanogenmod 10 & Jellybean)

Hi all,

This morning I had an Optimus One P500 with no modifications, in stock state.

I now have Cyanogenmod 10 and Android's Jellybean installed, and working, but after researching my 'no network coverage' it seems I need to update my baseband.

Firstly, did I make a mistake by flashing my firmware before I updated the baseband?

Secondly, I have tried to install the v20 baseband (I hope that's right) using the LGMDP but it can't identify or port my phone. What other options do I have? I am very confused and have been trying for hours to do this.

Lastly, if I have to revert back to CM7, is it Gingerbread 2.3 that I want?

Many thanks

Turns out I DID make a mistake installing a new ROM without updating from Android 2.2.2 to a newer version includes the new baseband.
