Help trouble moving icons

Acer Tab A200 - typically when I try to move an icon, I do a long press and instead of backlighting the icon and allowing me to move it, the app starts. The process will work the first time after I start the tablet, but then a long press starts whatever apps icon I press.

I have tried all of the display sensitivity levels without making a difference. Also, I have a posr.us screen protector. The problem existed with both Honeycomb and now ICS.

Yes, I think gluing a sheet of plastic to your screen could affect the touchscreen sensitivity. I saw comments on another forum about the posr.us screen overlays resulting in loss of sensitivity and clarity.

On another note, I used to think that screen protectors were some special high-tech conductive yet transparent film to work with capacative touch screens, justifying the crazy prices they charge.

But I discovered that standard kitchen cling wrap film also works.

This could be very handy if you want a temporary screen overlay while you're checking recipes while baking or you're researching how to dispose of a body and don't want to leave fingerprints all over your screen.

I have tried all of the long press delay options and the system still reacts the same. Also, the system is very responsive to screen presses in the applications.

It just seems that the press and move function isn't working. Is there a setting for this somewhere?

I just had an operating system upgrade (Kernal 2.6.39.4+) but I still have the same problem.
