Root trouble rooting

hi i'm having some trouble rooting my friends atrix and was hoping for some tips and tricks i'll start off with what i've been doing

it is is usb debuging mode
the sd card is mounted
i have tried super one click and all it does is say it's waiting for the phone then freezes

i have also tried this method [HOWTO] Easy Root 1.5.7 & 1.83 using GingerBreak - xda-developers

am i missing something??

Try GladRoot, worked wonders for me.

When I rooted my phone, I did not use that tutorial, but I did use it for the sideloading program, but here is the link I used to root my phone

pretty simple directions, and you don't have to install anything else besides gingerbreak

Did you install the drivers on your PC?

I used gingerbreak and i forgot to install the drivers,
after did that it work smoothly for me
