Trouble Streaming Online Station via some Android Devices

Hi guys,

I am hoping someone here can help me, I am streaming an online radio station with edcast via Shoutcast. There are 2 streams, one is AAC+ and the other is an mp3 stream. We have had lots of people who have tried to tune in but couldn't, we noticed these were all Android users. Stream is at 96kbps.

All other pcs, laptops, IOS devices seem to work fine. Has anyone experienced this before and could give any advice? I'm not very technical.

Thanks in advance,

Ryan

An app name (one that has the problem) and the station might help some of us who are technical to spot something. Otherwise it's just guessing, like Android doesn't support AAC? Or the people having problems with the mp3 stream are using apps that don't support mp3?

Also carrier, location and connection data might be helpful. Who's the carrier in each case of trouble? Where (as far as in the middle of St. Louis, 200 miles from Podunk, etc.) and is this happening with 2G, 3G, wifi, etc.

If everyone who's having trouble is out in the sticks with 2G data, you have your answer right there. (You can't fix the problem if you don't know what the problem is.)

Hello Ryan, Welcome to AF! :)

As far as the difficulty you are experiencing, I am definitely not technical, either. :)

Hopefully, if you expand upon the details a bit, someone will be able to help you identify the problem.

Thank you for joining, I hope you get that squared away!
