Help Trouble with 2.2.1 update

Desert Fox

Newbie
When I try to update my Motorola Droid phone, the phone appears to begin loading the update and then it switches to recovery mode. This happens each time I try to update my phone's software. Any suggestions?

My phone is rooted with Superuser. The phone's build is FRG22D.

If your talking about the Verizon OTA then it might be several things.

First, if you have an alternate recovery then it won't flash the update.
Second, if you removed a lot of the "bloat" then it may not work because of that.
Third, it could be a corrupt download and you need to redownload it.

The only other thing to be aware of is that if you accept Verizon's OTA then you will lose your root.

I believe the only bloatware I've removed is the news and weather. I may have also removed the voice search. When I try loading the update via recovery mode, I receive a "file does not exist" message.
