MEDIA TRANSFER

Guest
Hey there. New Android user, and I bought it specifically for Media usage. Here's my problem:

I first installed 'kies', assuming I needed some sort of program to upload from mac to android. My first error I encountered was that when I put a bunch of songs in a playlist, it would get to about 90 or so and just stop. And even with a less amount of songs, it has happened. Unless the number is very low, like say 10. What's going on?

I'm not done there. So, looking for an alternative I realized you can just use the android file transferapp. HOWEVER, everytime I plug in my android it gives the message 'Cannot connect to device. Try reconnecting or restarting your device' I've reconnected it countless times, and restarted both my computer and android and still the same thing.

Please help !!!

Trying going into the developer settings and turn-on USB debugging. I have a Mac and I do know Android File Transfer works.

Kies for Mac, I don't know, never touched it, but I know the Win version is very egregious. Maybe sort of OK for doing firmware updates, but nothing else, and certainly not media.

Well thanks for the help, but no luck. I even tried restarting and re-connecting the device after debugging, still nothing. :/

I just remembered now, sometime last year I did try Android File Transfer on a Mac with a Samsung Galaxy Win Duos phone and not being able to make it work. I've nearly always used Airdroid and done any file and media transfers wirelessly. Android File Transfer with my current Oppo F7a with Lollipop, it works straight away no problems. As long as the phone itself is in "USB file transfer" mode, which is indicated in the notifications.

Android File Transfer 1.0.50.2266
OS X 10.6.8 Snow Leopard, it's an older white Macbook.

Okay so.... What should I do? Lol
It was 'USB file transfer' mode, and still nothing. I'm running OS X Yosemite, and the most recent version of file transfer.

Sell the Mac and buy a PC? Sell the Samsung and buy an iPhone? LOL

Seriously, try Airdroid and do file transfers via WiFi. That's what I nearly always use. No need to install any software on the computer and be plugging things in, just uses the browser like Safari, Firefox, etc.

BTW I did a Lollipop upgrade on my phone a couple of weeks ago, it required Windows  to do it. Apple OS X, no chance.
