Root True ICS ROMs for the X?

Dabrador

Android Enthusiast
With the announcement of ICS, I got to wondering what the next steps are for getting a ROM based on ICS onto our X's. Also, what would the timing be for a somewhat polished ICS ROM to be ready?

Thanks all.

i dont think that will happen anytime soon dabrador, but you never know, developing a rom takes time, and the fact that it has to go through another step to get put on our phones may deem it to be tricky, and not worth the time. however im not worried, im just waiting on the phone itself. and my X will retire happily ^_^

Thanks for the feedback. One of the reasons why I asked was to figure out when to make a move to a new phone. Here's another question...how long before the Droid Razr gets ICS?

moto actually releases updates rather quickly to their new and sometimes old phones (dx got multiple versions of GB before the d2?)

however that being said, moto will get ICS, and install their moto blur on it before it hits your phone, so your still not going to get full ics, your going to get a blurred ics

Just read on engadget that Motorola says the razr will get ics in early part of 2012. We'll see. I think I'll be trying it out via the Nexus though!

he is asking about custom roms

if the dx sees ics (which i doubt) then it will be nice, but can it handle it?
i think so

I think it's interesting that some of the new developments in ICS are some things that we have in CM7 such as the swipe to remove notifications.

Just not sure if it's worth the money to get this new OS on a new phone.

Would be nice to get an ICS ROM for the X....hint!

i would rather have that phone, the 4.65 screen, super amoled hd, and full 1080p hd recording, zero shutter lag, nfc, dual core, etc, etc, the phone itself will be a beast, and the development community will be impressive as well!

Developers will Flock to the new samsung nexus. The phone and OS were built for each other. I will be getting one for sure.

yes it most def will, i keep laughing when i keep hearing moto say verizon told them to lock the bootloader, when so far moto is the only one verizon is making do it, htc has a method to unlock, and sammy never did, moto should have a website that allows it to be unlocked

I'm definitely sold on ICS...not so much the Galaxy Nexus phone itself. If I could get ICS (without the blur) on the Razr, that's the combo I'd like.

The review of the Nexus PHONE on this site shares some of the concerns that I have. Hmmm...

I hope they do come. Hopefully CM7 will be upgraded to ICS, even if they keep the GB kernel (that's possible, right?). I was excited in hearing about the Nexus Prime, but after seeing it, I think I'll pass.

Is it just MIUI or is this launcher not completely stable on any Rom? It's a shame too cause this launcher is very nice.

i ran it on cm7, and it wasnt stable, had numerous fc msgs trying to access text messages, after 3 tries it would go in to just about everything

but maybe its just dx 2init roms

Works perfectly on stock but then again, it looks stupid having the on screen buttons and the hard key buttons, wouldn't you agree?
