True or scare tactics?

anything is possible with any type of smart phone or PC, its up to you to decide if its worth getting scared over.

It's not just access to photos - it would be what happens to them. I also read photo forums and there are complaints about personal photos being swiped from photo posting sites and used by companies for advertising. Now it's copyright.

I'd say it is a bit of both. While there may be some truth to it there is probably a bit of melodrama thrown in as well.

It's the truth. Whether you get scared by it or not is up to you. Android is slowly moving away from the /sdcard approach to an "/sdcard" approach, so Google will have the ability to fine-tune permissions even more on what access applications can have.

It's not whether I get scared - it's about some people being either stupid or blase.

We had a warning on a local TV station about fixing your Facebook settings to more or less private. Some idiot had culled pictures of kids and put them on a site that sounded something like pornster, except there was no porn, just pics. Parents got outraged. (I don't blame them) Since some people will ignore warnings anyway, we just might get legislation that will put a stranglehold on what we can and cannot do just for "think of the children." That's what worries me. Canada tried to pass a really restrictive internet law for that reason. It got squashed. Related to SOPA, but the bill's sponsor made it sound like if you weren't for it, you were a pedophile.

So maybe we need stickied posts about truth, rumors, and what to do about them.
