We have four lines, all with UDP (Unlimited Data Plan). While two of our lines use little data, son & I rack up the data usage... mine is mostly music streaming. All day long. With Verizon getting ready to up our data plans significantly in price, I started shopping.
T-Mobile has really amped up their LTE in our area, and a look at their coverage map showed that almost everywhere we're bound to travel is, with little exception, covered. Their current "10GB for All" plan give us four lines, each with 10GB of data, for $120/month. The data is bankable: what you don't use rolls over for a year. I have 802.11AC WiFi in my house, so I stream my music and Internet over WiFi most of the day (unless I'm out and about)... and I have managed to keep my data usage under 10GB. It's perfect for us, and very reasonable in cost when compared to Verizon. Plus, the music streaming does NOT count against data usage (according to two different T-Mobile CSRs). The only wild card in this is the son's line, which will be with him in NJ. As long as he can stay under 10GB/month, we're golden... at less than half what Big Red wants to charge us.
Of course, connectivity is key: I won't kill the Verizon agreement until I've been on T-Mobile for a few days as a test drive to check for dropped calls, data drops, etc. But I don't foresee an issue.
