Trying out an Iphone 4

DO NOT WORRY MY FELLOW ANDROIDIANS, it's just trying. I'm keeping my exhibit :P
Any thoughts on IOS you guys?

I think "This is too small for me", when I see an iPhone 4 these days, But if you're using a Galaxy Exhibit, probably not going to notice much difference in screen size.

iOS is iOS of course, sure that's already been discussed, derailed, trolled, posts deleted, threads closed, members banned, etc. many times in The Lounge, can't feel the need for me to comment about it any more for the moment. :thumbsupdroid:

I will add though, the iPhone 4S is still very popular here, many people have them, frquently bought second-hand or refurbished. They'll often ugly cracks in them, front and back, where they've been a bit careless or whatever, and never bothered getting them repaired or discarded them.

I have a work-issued iPhone4s that sits in my locker at all times (I have calls/messaging/e-mail forwarded to my phone).
I tried to use it & see what it has to offer, but, for my use,the U/I is clunky at best,on-par with the God-Awful U/I on the OG Huawei Ascend.

Perhaps if I didn't have much interest/use for a smartphone beyond rudimentary call/text/e-mail,it'd do the trick.
But,once exposed to Android,it's akin to wearing shoes from your childhood.................

Wow @Guggy were you especially bad in a past existence? :D

The iP4 is the iOS equivalent of the Galaxy Ace; good in its day, but now long past its sell-by date and badly in need of a quiet burial... preferably with a stake through its SOC so that there's no chance of it coming back!

My daughter's 4s is approaching retirement (HTC M9 on its way). She's kept it going by the simple expedient of not updating to the last couple of iOS versions, but of course that means that not only are many apps not available but that Apple cut her off from services like Facetime.

But it's the failing battery that's put the stake in it. It has survived remarkably well though, all things considered.

I find that iOS offers a better web browsing experience than Android. I have an iPad Mini and I find that surfing on a browser on iOS is better. Whenever there is a video, all I have to do is pinch to zoom and the video maximises to full screen. On Android, I have to press that tiny little full screen button. iOS does mouse over actions better than Android as well.

I think that iOS is probably a bit better out of the box with no customisation than Android. Android is just better when you want to change how certain things work. Android has many different launchers and other configuration options for tweaking your device to more to your liking.

There will be many subtle and not so subtle differences you will encounter if you are Android and you start using an iOS device. More than a few of these differences may really annoy you. In spite of your possible discomfort with using iOS, I do think it is a valuable experience to really give it a an honest try. I've been a long time Android user and I have been using an iPad Mini for a couple of years now. Some things I like iOS more and other things I like Android more.
